Crowdsourcing Advocacy and Social Media - Credit: Building and Managing Coalitions

This modern era form of engagement digitally collectivizes work or funding. Wikipedia, the crowdsourced online encyclopedia, is perhaps one of the more famous examples. Kickstarter and other sites are helping entrepreneurs launch companies outside of the traditional funding streams. Wayz, the crowdsourced traffic app, is getting us through traffic more efficiently. Even governments have used the concept to tackle a range of thorny issues, from traffic congestion and health care (crowdsourcing has been used to track flu activity) to public safety.
